1. Formulation of sectoral plan in Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education sector.

2. Preparation, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of educational projects in Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education sector.

3. Matters relating to Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education.

4. Educational Research and Training relating to Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education including publications of scientific and professional books/journals.

5. National Students Council.

6. Educational Policy and Reforms relating to Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education.

7. Curriculum Development relating to Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education.

8. Preparation, Printing and Distribution of Text Books.

9. Policy directives on holding the public examinations relating to Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education conducted by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board and Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board under this Division.

10. Processing of educational projects/schemes with PEC/NEC/ECNEC and implementation of the decisions of the Cabinet.

11. Expert Bodies in the field of Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education, Research, etc. and financial aid to these organizations.

12. Matters relating to: (a) Aid from foreign and international bodies in the field of Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education level; (b) International Organizations and other international programmes in the field of Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education level.

13. Pride of performance, Merit Awards in the field of Arts, Science and Education related to Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education.

14. Education and welfare of Bangladesh students overseas, financial assistance to Bangladeshi Educational Institutions abroad.

15. Equivalence of Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates and Exchanges/Credit transfer of Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates with foreign countries in Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education.

16. Educational exchange programmes, exchange of students, teachers, educationists, technologists, scientists etc. in Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education;

17. Charities and charitable institutions pertaining to subjects belonging to this Division.

18. Matters relating to the recommendations of Education Commission relating to Technical-Vocational and Madrasah education.

19. Matters relating to the Recruitment of Teachers.

20. Secretarial administration including budget and other financial matters under this Division.

21. Matters relating to Monthly Payment Order (MPO).

22. Administration and control of the following Subordinate Offices and Organizations under this Division: (a) Directorate of Technical Education (DTE); (b) Directorate of Madrasah Education; (c) National Academy for Computer Training and Research (NACTAR); (d) Bangladesh Madrasah Teachers Training Institute (BMTTI).

23. Administrative coordination and strengthening with Scouts, Girl Guides and Rover-scouts activities in Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Institutions.

24. Review and formulation of Laws, Rules and Regulations on subjects allotted to this Division and matters relating to litigations thereof.

25. Matters relating to Technical Education Board and Madrasah Education Board.

26. Matters relating to foreign teachers and students.

27. Coordinating all matters relating to Technical-Vocational and Madrasah Education with other Ministries/Divisions and Organizations.

28. Matters relating to administration, control and management of Government Madrasah.

29. Matters relating to audit in this Division.

30. Administrative matters relating to the officers of BCS (Technical Education).

31. Implementation of National Skills Development Policy (NSDP) in Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET).

32. Liaison with International Organizations and matters relating to treaties and agreements with other countries and world bodies relating to subjects allotted to this Division.

33. All laws on subjects allotted to this Division.

34. Inquires and statistics on any of the subjects allotted to this Division.

35. Fees in respect of any of the subjects allotted to this Division except fees taken in courts.
